New York Sticks With Immanuel Quickley Off The Bench
4 years agoNew York Knicks point/shooting guard Immanuel Quickley has impressed in spades to kick off his NBA career, prompting calls for him to be elevated to the starting lineup. But despite dropping a career-high 31 points Sunday night, head coach Tom Thibodeau plans on keeping him as a reserve for the time being, saying, "We like the group that he's with right now." To further Thibodeau's point, Quickley is able to take on a more aggressive scoring role with the second unit than he would next to starters Julius Randle and RJ Barrett. Quickley's fluctuating minutes total and his scattershot statistical output have made him a shaky season-long option to this point, but he should only continue to see his upside grow as the year progresses.
