7 years agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Nicholas Castellanos will assume the cleanup spot in the lineup Friday against Pittsburgh's Ivan Nova, against whom he has two hits in four career at-bats. Castellanos had a career-best 26 homers and 101 RBI last year and followed it up with five homers during spring training. Castellanos is a safe bet to bat cleanup more often than not, and while the Tigers lineup as a whole doesn't figure to be very potent, he'll be right in the heart of things with first baseman Miguel Cabrera and designated hitter Victor Martinez batting on either side of him. Combine that with the fact that he has dual-position eligibility (third base and outfield), and he's poised for another productive year.--Tyler Germain - RotoBaller
