Nick Anderson Earns Win In Relief
4 years agoTampa Bay Rays relief pitcher Nick Anderson picked up a win after getting the last out of the seventh inning pitching the eighth inning vs Toronto on Saturday. After tying the game at one, Toronto got two more runners on base so Tampa turned to Anderson to escape the seventh. He also got through the eighth inning before his team scored three in the bottom of the eighth to secure the win for the flame-throwing righty. Anderson is the de-facto closer for the Rays, but is also the best reliever in that bullpen so manager Kevin Cash won't be afraid to deploy him whenever the team needs, as he did today. Anderson posted a 41.7 percent strikeout rate last season so he will still help in wins, strikeouts and ratios while still picking up some saves. He's a must-own reliever in all fantasy leagues.
