4 years agoTampa Bay Rays right-handed reliever Nick Anderson tossed 15 pitches during a bullpen session Saturday while on the comeback trail from inflammation in his right forearm. The plan next calls for Anderson to throw live batting practice Monday, which would pave the way for him to be activated next weekend when the club returns home. Getting Anderson back in the mix would be a welcome addition for a team that has sustained numerous injuries to its staff in 2020. While manager Kevin Cash has been notoriously bullish on naming a closer, Anderson would see the lion’s share of high-leverage situations upon his activation.--Jesse Borek
