5 years agoTexas Rangers second baseman Nick Solak went 2-for-4 against the Yankees Wednesday night. It was another quiet night for the Texas offense, but Solak has been a bright spot down the stretch of another losing season. Since being called up on August 20, Solak is batting .304 with a whopping .418 on-base percentage. The average is being aided by a .419 BABIP but he's made up for it with only a 3.1 percent soft-contact rate through the first couple weeks of Big League action. Solak has also shown great plate discipline with a 10.9 percent walk rate which is an extension of the 11.2 rate he put up in Triple-A with the Rays organization. He's a solid pick up in fantasy for those looking for average or OBP help down the stretch.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
