4 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans point/shooting guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker (ankle) has been shut down for a minimum of two weeks due to a moderately sprained left ankle. With the timeline provided by the organization, Alexander-Walker will miss at least the next nine games due to the ailment. Lonzo Ball stands to continue seeing the vast majority of PG minutes, whereas the recently-signed Isaiah Thomas stands to key the second unit. After a slow start to the 2020-21 campaign, Alexander-Walker has come on like fire during the second half, averaging 14.6 PPG across 13 contests. His future as a potential starting member of New Orleans' backcourt is very much up in the air, as he'll also have a tight window to returning to action again this season.--Jesse Borek
