3 years agoThe Chicago Cubs placed shortstop Nico Hoerner (ankle) on the 10-day injured list with a right ankle sprain. Hoerner suffered the injury this past Wednesday and he went on to miss three straight games. His move to the injured list is retroactive to Thursday, May 12. The Cubs activated fellow shortstop Andrelton Simmons (shoulder) from the injured list in a corresponding move. Ildemaro Vargas has started at shortstop for three consecutive games for the team, but Simmons figures to see a good amount of starts over the next week.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
