Nikola Jokic Has Dreadful Night Behind The Arc
5 years agoDenver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic had a fantasy fulfilling evening, but the underlying numbers tell a different story. Twenty points, seven assists, six rebounds and three steals will please a lot of fantasy managers, but it wasn't pretty on the eyes. Jokic hit one of his eight three-point attempts and was 7-for-19 from the field overall. His season averages are all down from last year and career worsts for the fifth-year player. He is hitting 44.7% from the field, 24.4% from three and is only converting from the free-throw line at a 73.3% clip. Jokic is clearly struggling from the biggest year of basketball he has ever played with the playoff run and World Cup. Patience is likely a virtue in this scenario, but if an attractive trade offer comes around, owners would be wise to take a listen and consider selling while Jokic is still considered a high-tier asset this season.
