6 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans power forward Nikola Mirotic will miss his ninth consecutive game Monday when his team faces the Minnesota Timberwolves. His ankle ailment has kept him sidelined for three weeks and the fact that he was ruled out so far in advance of tip-off doesn’t bode well for his prospects for returning to action Wednesday against the Brooklyn Nets. New Orleans has been unable to recreate his offense in his absence as the fifth-year big remains on pace for new career highs in scoring (17.4) and rebounds (9.2) per game.--Jesse Borek
