Noah Syndergaard Undergoes Successful Tommy John Surgery
5 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard (elbow) underwent successful Tommy John surgery on Thursday. Assuming Syndergaard has no setbacks in his rehabilitation, he will miss 12-14 months and return sometime in the 2021 season. Syndergaard should be avoided in all 2020 redraft leagues. Syndergaard had been looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2019 campaign that saw him post a career-high 4.28 ERA and give up a league-high 94 earned runs. With his season-ending injury, both Steven Matz and Michael Wacha should both be assured of rotation spots when the 2020 season begins, making both pitchers fantasy relevant in mixed and NL-only leagues.
