6 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Nomar Mazara (thumb) has been activated from the disabled list on Thursday. Mazara will slot straight back into the lineup, playing right field and hitting fourth. Mazara struggled initially to recover following the injury but has come on quickly in the last week or two. Mazara has been having a career season with 15 home runs and a .272 batting average. However, thumb injuries can often be hard for hitters to return from initially. Mazara may have a down period over the next couple of weeks but the young slugger should be in line for a solid September to finish the season.--Ben Rolfe
