3 years agoNew York Knicks power forward Obi Toppin concluded the 2021-22 season by dropping a career-best 42 points on 16-for-28 shooting en route to a double-double. Toppin stepped into lead offensive duties with Julius Randle (quad) ruled out down the stretch, as the 24-year-old averaged 27.2 points and shot 46.3% from long range over his last five outings. It's unlikely that Toppin carries a similar offensive workload into next year, but his role should improve from the 17.1 minutes and nine points per contest he averaged this season.--Jesse Borek
