Orlando Selects Mohamed Bamba With Sixth Pick
6 years agoThe Orlando Magic have selected Texas center Mohamed Bamba with the No. 6 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. Bamba, who set a record for the largest wingspan ever recorded at the NBA Combine, averaged 12.9 points and 10.5 rebounds in his one season as a Longhorn while also blocking 3.7 shots per game. Bamba has been trying to re-work his shot before the draft after showing some ability to step out and hit jumpers, but so much of his value will depend on how that shot translates in a live NBA game. He'll be a stellar defender for the Magic, but he might have the highest bust potential of all the big men selected in the top 10. We'll see once the season starts if his wingspan can be used for more than just blocking shots.
