2 years agoKansas City Chiefs rookie running back Isiah Pacheco found the end zone in Sunday's win over the Arizona Cardinals. He finished with 12 carries for 62 yards, which both led the Chiefs. He wasn't targeted in the passing game. Pacheco made some good plays in his debut, but the touchdown came late in the blowout victory, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire operated as the team's primary running back. While his Week 1 fantasy numbers looked good, his current role is still cloudy. In a close game, what will Pacheco do?--Justin Carter - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
Share:
2 years agoMinnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook carried the ball 20 times for 90 yards and added three receptions for 18 yards in a 23-7 win over the Green Bay Packers. He showed some flashes of his explosiveness as his longest carry went for 16 yards and his longest reception went for 10 yards. Cook failed to find the end zone, but fantasy managers shouldn't be worried about his touchdown output moving forward. Alexander Mattison was mixed into the offense with eight touches, but Cook still handled a hefty workload in this one. The three-time 1,000-yard rusher can be valued as a solid RB1 option moving forward.--Tommy Adamopoulos - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
Share:
2 years agoNew York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones completed 17 of his 21 attempts for 188 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in Sunday's win over the Tennessee Titans. The former first-round pick was under duress for the majority of Week 1 as he was sacked five times. The 25-year-old quarterback wasn't asked to throw the ball much in the victory, but he was efficient with his throws outside of an interception in the red zone on a pass to Saquon Barkley. With Brian Daboll now running the show for the Giants, Jones is entering a decisive year in his fourth season with the organization. If the Duke product can play with more efficiency this season, he can be a solid fill-in quarterback in certain weeks or a viable second quarterback in Superflex leagues depending on the matchup.--Skyler Carlin - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
Share:
2 years agoTennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry posted just 82 rushing yards on 21 attempts, and once again proved to be a "zero" in the receiving game. He failed to find the end zone, so this will go down as a "bust" week for the two-time rushing champion. He usually takes time to heat up, but the 3.9 yards per carry average is concerning. However, his workload is too strong to overreact here, so even in a tough matchup with Buffalo coming up, he's worth rolling the dice on again. The multiple touchdowns games could be coming.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
Share:
2 years agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave was limited in the Week 1 comeback victory over the Atlanta Falcons. The rookie wide receiver had only three targets in the game. However, he caught all three for 41 yards in the win. Jameis Winston was solid for the Saints but targeted Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry on 50% of his attempts. Despite scoring only 7.1 PPR fantasy points in Week 1, fantasy players should feel optimistic about the rookie's future. While Olave should remain on fantasy benches for the next few weeks, fantasy players should hold onto the rookie.--Mike FanelliSource: ESPN
Share:
2 years agoLos Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert completed 26 of his 34 pass attempts for 279 yards and three touchdowns in a 24-19 Week 1 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. Herbert lost Keenan Allen (hamstring) in the first half but was still able to get it done, finding Zander Horvath, DeAndre Carter, and Gerald Everett for scores. Both the Chargers and fantasy managers will hope to have Allen back for another important divisional matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2, but Herbert remains a must-start QB1 in all league formats regardless.--Jorden Hill - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
Share:
2 years agoKansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes looked sharp in the team's 44-21 win over the Cardinals on Sunday. The former MVP was 30-for-39 for 360 yards with five touchdowns. He also added five rushing yards. There was some concern about this Chiefs offense after the team traded Tyreek Hill to Miami, but Mahomes answered those on Sunday. He remains one of the top quarterbacks in fantasy.--Justin Carter - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
Share:
2 years agoMinnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson had a monster performance in Week 1, putting up nine receptions for 184 yards and two touchdowns. The third-year stud was highly efficient in this one, as he caught nine of his 11 targets and averaged 20.4 yards per catch. Playing in the offensive system that turned Cooper Kupp into the NFL offensive player of the year in 2021, Jefferson is poised to continue offering fantasy managers elite output as a WR1. The 23-year-old will look to build on his strong start to the season in Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles.--Tommy Adamopoulos - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
Share:
2 years agoTennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill completed 20 of his 33 passing attempts for 266 yards and two touchdowns. He posted 23.34 fantasy points, good for a QB10 finish before Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football. He only rushed one time for nine yards, so he didn't reach a ceiling outcome, but he was a solid starter and a more than acceptable QB2 in superflex leagues. It'll take time for Tannehill to build chemistry with all of his new weapons, but it was a good opening showing heading into a matchup with the Bills.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
Share:
2 years agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Jarvis Landry was very productive in his team debut. He had seven receptions on nine targets for 114 yards, all team-highs. Furthermore, he was a consistent option for Jameis Winston as the Saints made their comeback victory. The former LSU Tiger scored 18.4 PPR fantasy points in Week 1 despite facing a talented Atlanta Falcons cornerback duo. While Landry had a strong performance against Atlanta, fantasy players should be cautious starting the veteran receiver next week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.--Mike FanelliSource: ESPN
Share:
2 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Russell Gage (hamstring) will play on Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys. Gage had been questionable heading into this one. However, with Chris Godwin (knee) also active, Tom Brady will have a plethora of options to throw to. While the presence of Godwin, Mike Evans, and Julio Jones could certainly lower Gage's target share, managers in deep fantasy formats should still keep him in mind.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Scott Smith
Share:
2 years agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas started slowly in the Week 1 win over the Atlanta Falcons. However, the former Ohio State Buckeye was critical in the Saints' comeback victory. Thomas scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, including a score with under four minutes left in the game. Despite facing a talented Atlanta cornerback duo, Thomas caught five of his eight targets for 57 yards in the win. While he was questionable because of a hamstring injury entering the game, the veteran wide receiver looked 100% healthy during the game. Fantasy players can feel confident starting Thomas as a low-end WR2 for the rest of the season.--Mike FanelliSource: ESPN
Share:
2 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Kyle Rudolph is inactive for Sunday's matchup against Dallas. The Bucs are high on Cameron Brate and Cade Otton, so both men figure to get some targets from Tom Brady in the opener. Unfortunately for them, Chris Godwin (knee) is active, so their outlook for Week 1 isn't as bright as it could have been. That said, Otton and Brate should remain viable fantasy options heading into this one.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Share:
2 years agoNew Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was disappointing in the Week 1 win over the Atlanta Falcons. The veteran running back had only nine rushing attempts for 39 yards in the win. He was also limited in the passing game, catching three of his four targets for only seven yards. While the lack of rushing attempts is a concern for Kamara, fantasy players should feel optimistic after he averaged 4.3 yards per carry. The veteran running back has a tough matchup next week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, he remains a low-end RB1 and a plug-and-play running back.--Mike FanelliSource: ESPN
Share:
2 years agoMiami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders went 2-for-2 on extra points and 2-for-2 on field goals during the team's Week 1 victory over the New England Patriots. His two field goals came from 43 and 49 yards out. As long as he can continue to be accurate, the Dolphins have a strong enough offense to support weekly production from Sanders. He is worth streaming and rostering going forward.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
2 years agoNew York Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein missed two of his kicks in his Jets debut, a Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Zuerlein tried two field goals, making one and missing the other, and missed his only extra point attempt. Both of Zuerlein's field goal attempts came from 45 yards out, he made one and missed the other. On a team likely to struggle to score throughout the season, Zuerlein likely isn't a great bet in most fantasy lineups.--David A Marcillo - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
2 years agoDallas Cowboys wide receiver Jalen Tolbert won't play in Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The rookie is a healthy scratch, and with Michael Gallup (knee) also out, the team will be missing some pivotal pieces on the receiving end. Still, Dak Prescott will have plenty to work with, as the veteran will likely focus most of his attention on CeeDee Lamb, Dalton Schultz, Ezekiel Elliott, and Tony Pollard. There is also a chance that 2017 seventh-round draft pick Noah Brown will be involved.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Michael Gehlken
Share:
2 years agoThe Miami Dolphins defense left its mark in Week 1, tallying two fumble recoveries, one interception and one touchdown while defeating the New England Patriots. Brandon Jones and Kader Kohou forced fumbles while Melvin Ingram and Jaelan Phillips tallied recoveries. Ingram's recovery turned into a two-yard scoop-and-score, giving Miami a defensive touchdown. Additionally, Jevon Holland contributed an interception that included a 31-yard return. Finally, the unit sacked Mac Jones twice. The Dolphins will face another tough opponent in the Baltimore Ravens next Sunday, but if Week 1 is any indication, Miami is up to the challenge.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
2 years agoNew Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston completed 67.7% of his passes in the Week 1 win over the Atlanta Falcons. More importantly, the former top draft pick had two passing touchdowns and zero interceptions in the win. Winston spread the ball around, completing at least one pass to eight different receivers. Furthermore, the former Florida State star found Michael Thomas for both of his touchdowns in the fourth quarter as he led the Saints to a comeback victory.--Mike FanelliSource: ESPN
Share:
2 years agoNew York Jets tight end Tyler Conklin scored the only Jets touchdown in a Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Conklin was targeted seven times, making four catches for 14 yards and the one score. His touchdown was a three-yard score at the end of the fourth quarter, deep into garbage time. With plenty of garbage time and negative game script likely ahead for the Jets, Conklin could end up as a decent fantasy tight end in most formats this season.--David A Marcillo - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
2 years agoMiami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert rushed five times for 16 yards against the New England Patriots on Sunday. He also hauled in his lone target for 16 yards through the air. The veteran back is the clear No. 2 behind Chase Edmonds in both the running and passing game. He's a fine insurance option and should be rostered in deeper leagues, but he won't be worth starting as long as Edmonds is healthy.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
2 years agoMiami Dolphins running back Chase Edmonds rushed 12 times for 25 yards against the New England Patriots in Week 1. He also hauled in all four of his target for an additional 40 yards through the air. While Edmonds' performance on the ground was certainly disappointing, he made up for it with a good effort in the passing attack. He should remain involved as a receiver in Week 2 when the Dolphins take on a Baltimore Ravens team whose secondary could create problems for Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
2 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin (knee) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys. Under normal circumstances, Godwin would be a lock in all fantasy formats. However, considering he's coming off an ACL tear from last season, there's a chance he'll be on a snap count. Yet, the veteran still has plenty of upside despite the potential for decreased playing time, so he deserves some consideration from fantasy managers.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Share:
2 years agoMiami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill totaled 12 targets, eight catches and 94 yards in Week 1 against the New England Patriots. He led the team in all three of those categories. Hill was the clear No. 1 receiving option in the Miami offense and has quickly earned quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's trust. He should be viewed as a must-start option every week and ranks as a low-end WR1 heading into Week 2 versus the Baltimore Ravens.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
2 years agoNew York Jets wide receiver Braxton Berrios was targeted six times in a Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, making five catches for 37 yards. Jets quarterback Joe Flacco, constantly under duress throughout the game, attempted 59 passes in this one, so there may be fewer targets to go around in other games. Still, Berrios made as many catches as Jets WR1 Elijah Moore in this one, and could continue to show some deep league PPR value going forward if (if?) the Jets keep seeing negative game scripts that force them to throw the ball more than they'd ideally like.--David A Marcillo - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
2 years agoMiami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle turned five targets into four catches, 69 yards, and one touchdown during a Week 1 victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday. He was the clear No. 2 option behind Tyreek Hill, but he still turned in an impressive performance that put him in the WR2 territory this week. He'll face a stingy Baltimore Ravens secondary in Week 2.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
2 years agoNew York Jets wide receiver Elijah Moore made five catches in a Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Moore was targeted on seven of quarterback Joe Flacco's 59 pass attempts, and gained a total of 49 yards on his five grabs. Flacco missed Moore when he was open twice in this game, so he could have had a bigger game, but at the same time, the Ravens defense seemed intent on covering Moore as tightly as possible. He should have some big games this season, especially with how often the Jets will likely have to throw the ball.--David A Marcillo - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
2 years agoNew York Jets rookie wide receiver Garrett Wilson made four catches in his first NFL game, a Week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Wilson was targeted eight times, with his four catches totaling 52 yards. Due to negative game script from almost the first whistle, Jets quarterback Joe Flacco ended up attempting 59 passes. Still, Wilson looked strong in this one, easily creating separation and showing strong hands when targeted. On a team that should regularly need to throw often, Wilson could be a sneaky good end of bench stash in most formats and needs to be rostered in all dynasty formats.--David A Marcillo - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
2 years agoLas Vegas Raiders running back Brandon Bolden (hamstring) won't return to the Week 1 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Bolden only had three carries for seven yards on the ground. However, he made some noise by accumulating two catches for 21 yards and a touchdown, pulling in an 18-yard pass from Derek Carr early in the third quarter. It appears the veteran will have a role supporting Josh Jacobs through the year. But if he can't go in Week 2 versus the Cardinals, rookie Zamir White should be more involved.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Las Vegas Raiders
Share:
2 years agoMiami Dolphins tight end Mike Gesicki hauled in his lone target for just one yard during a Week 1 victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday. His lack of involvement wasn't a major surprise considering Miami's weapons and New England's strong safety room, but his final stat line was still lower than expected. Next up for Gesicki: a clash with a Ravens defense that allowed four catches, 14 yards, and one touchdown to Jets tight ends this week.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
