Paul Casey Appears Healthy For U.S. Open
7 years agoPaul Casey will be making just his second start since withdrawing one day before the Players Championship with a back injury. He returned a few weeks later at the BMW PGA Championship and finished T20, showing little effects from the injury. Now he sets his sights on his 15th U.S. Open and second trip to Shinnecock Hills. When the Open was last played here in 2004, Casey missed the cut, and his U.S. Open results have been a mixed bag. Over his 15 starts, his best finish is 15th. He's missed five cuts and has only finished inside the top 30 twice. Still, Casey is playing great golf in 2018 with a win and nine top-25 finishes in 11 starts. Despite his struggles at this tournament, his recent form could make him a dark horse to finish near the top.
