3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals first baseman Paul Goldschmidt (back) is being held out of Tuesday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. Brendan Donovan will be covering first base for the contest. Goldschmidt is dealing with lower back tightness. The ailment is what led to him playing designated hitter instead of first base on Monday. According to Cardinals beat writer John Denton, the Cardinals are hopeful that by giving Goldschmidt Tuesday off, he'll be able to return on Wednesday.
