Paul Sewald Strikes Out Four Batters In First Save
3 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Paul Sewald picked up his first save of the year Thursday afternoon, recording all four of his outs via strikeout around a hit and a walk. He likely only received this opportunity because Kendall Graveman pitched 1 2/3 innings on Wednesday, but nonetheless Sewald could be in line for the occasional save chance going forward. He's been excellent all season, recording a 1.66 ERA and 1.02 WHIP with 38 strikeouts in 21 2/3 innings. Even the most desperate fantasy managers should leave Sewald on the wire for now, at least until he gets more save chances.
