3 years agoNew York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso (head) is back at first base and is hitting cleanup on Wednesday against St. Louis Cardinals left-hander Steven Matz. Alonso was hit in the head by a pitch on Tuesday in St. Louis, but he did not have to leave the game and passed the league's concussion protocol overnight. The power-hitting first baseman went 0-for-3 in the game on Tuesday, but he's hitting .257 with three home runs, 16 RBI and nine runs scored in his first 82 plate appearances of the season. Fantasy managers mainly drafted Alonso for his power, but he hasn't cleared the fences since April 17 at home against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Despite the recent power drought, Alonso should be in all starting lineups in redraft leagues on Wednesday.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
