Philadelphia Hopes To Have Ben Simmons Back Tuesday
4 years agoPhiladelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons (knee) has missed each of the team's two previous outings, but head coach Doc Rivers said Monday that he hoped to have Simmons back for Tuesday's contest versus Miami. (There exists a distinct possibility that Tuesday's game won't happen due to the league's health and safety protocols, which have ruled multiple Heat players out already.) Without Simmons in the mix, Tyrese Maxey has made back-to-back starts at PG and seen a short-term rise in season-long upside; should Simmons return, that value would check back into line, although after a 39-point showing, Maxey has likely earned himself a bench role moving forward. Simmons has been a beacon of offensive consistency, even as it has seen his scoring average drop by three PPG from last year. Check back Tuesday to see whether Simmons can fulfill Rivers' wishes and return to action.
