Portland Deems Zach Collins Out Indefinitely After Ankle Surgery
4 years agoPortland Trail Blazers power forward/center Zach Collins (ankle) does not have a timetable to return to action after undergoing ankle surgery to repair a stress fracture. Having started all 11 games that he appeared in for Portland last year before injuries struck, Collins' ascension into a nightly double-double threat has been put on hold. With the Trail Blazers firmly secure in the frontcourt with a quartet of Robert Covington, Carmelo Anthony, Jusuf Nurkic, and Enes Kanter, the extended absence for Collins won't be a pressing concern. Still just 23 years old, Collins will have to crack the rotation upon his return, although when that will be remains to be determined.
