2 years agoBoston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers and shortstop Xander Bogaerts will be getting the day off on Wednesday as the team closes out its three-game series against the Detroit Tigers. Red Sox manager Alex Cora stated that he wanted to rest some of his regulars for the game. Bobby Dalbec will be getting the start at third base while Jeter Downs will make his MLB debut and cover shortstop in the game. The Red Sox are off on Thursday, so Devers and Bogaerts will get a pair of days to rest. Cora added that Bogaerts was a little banged up, so the off days will be especially beneficial for him.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
