Rajon Rondo Plays Well Off the Bench
7 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans point guard Rajon Rondo played well enough despite his team falling to Philly on Friday evening. Rondo came off the bench in favor of guard DeAndre Liggins but still ended up seeing 25 minutes of action. Though he wasn't productive scoring, finishing the night with only five points on 2-for-5 shooting, he did dish out 10 assists. Rondo may continue to see minutes outside of the starting unit, as head coach Alvin Gentry is looking to utilize the veteran to provide a spark to the team's struggling second unit. His lack of offensive production is an issue, but he can certainly make up for it with his passing and defensive prowess. He will have a favorable matchup on Saturday against a Brooklyn Nets team that has been horrendous against opposing playmakers all season, and he could be a nice value play in DFS lineups.
