7 years agoTexas Rangers first baseman Ronald Guzman will be added to the 25-man roster following shortstop Elvis Andrus' (elbow) move to the disabled list. Guzman has mostly played at first base throughout his minor league career with a handful of outings in left field. In 2018, Guzman has hit .412 with four strikeouts and four walks in 21 plate appearances in Triple-A. He will offer some potential for home runs after hitting 16 in 2016 and 12 in 2017. The left-hander was significantly better in 2017 against right-handed pitching, hitting 10 of 12 home runs and hitting .315 against them. In contrast, he hit just .259 against left-handed pitching. Guzman's value will mostly be in AL-only leagues, but in 15-team mixed leagues with daily lineup changes he is also worth a look.--Ben Rolfe
