Rickie Fowler Hopes To Jump Start His Year At La Quinta
3 years agoOff the course, Rickie Fowler had a nice 2021. He and his wife welcomed a baby girl last fall. On the course, Fowler struggled again last year. His best finish was a third-place showing at The CJ Cup in October. Fowler played exceptionally from tee-to-green that week, gaining nine strokes. Unfortunately, that success was short-lived. Fowler did not finish the fall swing that well and is coming into this week as an unknown. He has been a mixed bag at La Quinta, with his best finish being a 10th-place finish in 2020. Fowler has not won since 2019 and has not shown much to inspire confidence that he can contend consistently. On the bright side, Fowler won't be rostered by many this week and could make for a nice sleeper option.
