4 years agoMinnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio and power forward Juan Hernangomez have been ruled out for Friday's contest versus the Grizzlies due to the league's COVID-19 protocols. Hernangomez has been announced to be unavailable for the next 10 days, meaning that he'll miss at least five contests before getting back into action. Without Rubio among the second unit for the time being, Jordan McLaughlin figures to step into a larger role, albeit not one worthy of season-long consideration at this stage. The next chance that Rubio could return comes Monday against Atlanta, but the league has been stringent in its contact-tracing procedures, making his true return date uncertain.--Jesse Borek
