Ricky Rubio Shoots Poorly But Performs Well
7 years agoUtah Jazz point guard Ricky Rubio may not have had the best outing shooting-wise, but he played well on Friday night against the Memphis Grizzlies. Rubio scored 15 points, going 3-for-10 from the field and 9-for-11 from the free throw line, in addition to pulling down 10 boards and dishing out five assists. In the last five games including Friday, Rubio has put up solid counting stats but has struggled with his shot. During that same span, Rubio is averaging 13.3 points, 7.0 assists and 5.8 rebounds, but is only shooting 41.2 percent from the floor. The next matchup for Rubio and the Jazz will take place on Sunday against the Pelicans. Rubio will have a tough matchup, as he will mostly be guarded by Rajon Rondo, who has the sixth best defensive plus-minus rating for point guards this season.
