Robert Covington Ties Season-High With Four Blocks
5 years agoHouston Rockets forward Robert Covington had four blocks for the second straight game on Thursday night in a 135-105 win over the Golden State Warriors. After averaging 0.9 blocks in 48 games with Minnesota, the 29-year old sits at 2.2 swats per game with his new team and in his new role as a small-ball center. In 27 minutes on Thursday, RoCo also added 20 points, five rebounds, one assist, and drained five of his 10 three-point attempts. He has seamlessly fit into the Rockets system and is taking 8.4 shots from behind the arc per game. A nice boost in rebounds and blocks should boost Covington from top-15 fantasy forward to the fringes of the top-10 for the rest of the season. He visits Utah and Rudy Gobert on Saturday night in what should be a real test of the Rockets small-ball approach.
