3 years agoBoston Celtics center Robert Williams III suited up for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals vs. Miami on Tuesday and looked as if he had never been sidelined. The 24-year-old recorded 18 points, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots across 28 minutes, the latter of which set a postseason high. The absence of Al Horford (health and safety protocols) paves the way for Williams to play an integral role in the games to come, even as he is matched up with Miami's Bam Adebayo. That the Celtics were comfortable rolling Williams out for nearly 30 minutes (right at his regular-season average) is an indication of his knee ailment trending in the right direction as the team seeks an NBA Finals berth.--Jesse Borek
