Robert Williams III Signs Extension With Celtics
3 years agoBoston Celtics center Robert Williams III agreed to a four-year contract extension with the team on Friday. The deal is for $54 million, and it comes after the 23-year-old had a breakout season in 2021, including averaging 9.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks throughout 13 games as a starter. Unfortunately, a toe ailment limited him to some degree. However, it's probable he will see an increase in production this season, primarily on the glass and defensive end. His superb shooting percentage also won't negatively impact category managers either, but he will need to stay healthy, which has been an issue throughout his limited tenure in the league.
