Roberto Perez Out 8-10 Weeks
4 years agoCleveland Indians catcher Roberto Perez is expected to miss eight to 10 weeks due to a fractured right ring finger. Perez had surgery and three pins placed in the finger to help stabilize the fracture. Austin Hedges should see the bulk of playing time at catcher, while Rene Rivera will spell him on off days. Perez played through pain for several weeks -- his batting average dropped nearly 100 points after the injury -- after fracturing his finger on April 14. His loss is a big blow to the Tribe, as the two-time Gold Glove winner handles one of the league's best pitching staffs.
