3 years agoThe San Diego Padres are expected to sign veteran second baseman Robinson Cano on Friday, according to Jon Heyman. The 39-year-old will be activated prior to Friday night's game against the Atlanta Braves. Heyman notes that Cano will give the Padres a left-handed bat off the bench and that he could be utilized in the designated hitter spot as well. Of course, that all depends on Cano finding his groove at the plate. The longtime Yankee appeared in 12 games with the New York Mets this year before he was DFA'd and he slashed just .195/.233/.268 over that 12-game stint.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
