7 years agoTexas Rangers catcher Robinson Chirinos is back in the lineup Friday. Chirinos was a late scratch from Wednesday's lineup, and a stint on the disabled list looked a possibility. In 108 plate appearances this season, Chirinos has six home runs and is on pace to beat his career high of 17. However, it has not been all positive at the plate for Chirinos, who is hitting just .186 so far. Given the lack of true competition behind the plate, Chirinos should continue to see the majority of the playing time. He can offer a nice power bump from the catcher position, but as it stands the damage to your average may prove to be a bigger negative than the power is a positive.--Ben Rolfe
