6 years agoSan Antonio Spurs small forward/power forward Rudy Gay scored 19 points on 9-for-12 shooting from the floor and 1-for-1 from beyond the arc in Sunday's loss to the Clippers. The 32-year-old also brought in eight rebounds, dished out one assist and blocked one shot in 29 minutes. He has scored in double-figures in three straight games and four of five contests in January. The 13th-year pro has been very efficient in the three games after returning from a five-game absence as he has totaled 55 points on 24 of 37 shooting (64.8 percent) from the field along with 16 rebounds, seven assists, and three blocks. Gay was fantastic against the 76ers, who the Spurs face on Wednesday, in the first meeting this year. The former UConn star was 10-for-15 from the field as he finished with 21 points along with six rebounds and three assists in that game.--Daniel Benjamin
