Rudy Gay Makes Season Debut With 20 Points
3 years agoAfter recovering from offseason surgery, Utah Jazz forward Rudy Gay had a successful season debut on Thursday. In a 119-103 win over the Toronto Raptors, Gay played 18 minutes while recording 20 points, five rebounds, five three-pointers, and two assists. The veteran forward went 7-for-8 from the floor, 5-for-6 from three-point land, and 1-for-2 from the free-throw line. It's unlikely Gay has many nights like this during the season become the Jazz's pecking order is pretty set. However, an injury to Jordan Clarkson, Mike Conley, or Joe Ingles would shoot Gay up the depth chart. So he's safe to leave on waivers for now but worth checking on in a week or two.
