6 years agoSan Antonio Spurs small/power forward Rudy Gay finished Tuesday’s victory over the Memphis Grizzlies with 15 points, 12 rebounds and a season-high eight assists, nearly logging the first triple-double of his career in the place where it started. Gay’s performance put the finishing touches on an excellent first half, one in which he shot a career-best 51.9 from the field overall, as well as putting himself on pace for a career-high 43.5 percent mark from deep. At 14.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest, he boasts one of the highest floors in the league for players in his tier. He’ll open the second half against another former club, the Toronto Raptors, on Feb. 22.--Jesse Borek
