6 years agoSan Antonio Spurs small forward/power forward Rudy Gay scored 14 of his 22 points in the second half as the Spurs outlasted the Timberwolves 116-113 on Friday. Gay, who scored seven points in both the third and fourth quarter, finished the game 9-for-14 from the field and 4-for-5 from the charity stripe. He added five assists, four rebounds, one block, one assist, and five turnovers. It was his first 20-point night since Dec. 17 against the 76ers. The 32-year-old is averaging 14.5 points along with 5.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and one steal in four games this month. Gay has been very efficient against the Clippers, who the Spurs face on Sunday, as he is averaging 17.3 points, five rebounds and 2.3 assists against them in three games.--Daniel Benjamin
