5 years agoHouston Rockets point guard Russell Westbrook delivered a scorching-hot conclusion to January during Friday’s win over the Dallas Mavericks, collecting 32 points on 13-for-28 shooting. In 11 contests during the month, Westbrook averaged 32.5 points per contest, the most that he has reeled off since March 2017. As has become old hat for Westbrook, he packed the stat sheet Friday, adding nine assists, six rebounds and three steals. He has now attempted at least 21 field goals in each of his last 17 games, which bodes well heading into Sunday against a high-octane Pelicans team that will push the pace constantly.--Jesse Borek
