6 years agoOklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook was held in check by the San Antonio Spurs during Saturday’s loss. Westbrook had reeled off a double-double in 17 consecutive outings, but the Spurs managed to slow Westbrook by his standards, finishing with 19 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. Without Paul George for the third consecutive game, Westbrook was tasked with a larger offensive role, but it’s evident that the Thunder are missing George’s scoring prowess. There will be little rest for Westbrook, who faces another stout defensive challenge in the form of the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday.--Jesse Borek
