Russell Westbrook Returning To Lakers
2 years agoLos Angeles Lakers guard Russell Westbrook has decided to accept his $47.1 million player option for next season. As expected, Westbrook exercised his ridiculous option since he'd never get anything close to that in free agency. His first season in Los Angeles was a disaster, so another reason for Westbrook to stay rather than test his value in free agency. The Lakers have made it known that they plan on shopping Westbrook this offseason. Best of luck to them trying to find someone willing to take on that salary. It has been rumored they've been looking at Kyrie Irving, but the Nets are unlikely to have interest in acquiring Westbrook. The Lakers will need to move Westbrook in order to bring in another superstar to LA. Possibly, Westbrook figures out how to play alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis in Los Angeles. Otherwise, fantasy managers could be looking at another wasted season for Westbrook.
