7 years agoKansas City Royals relief pitcher Scott Barlow has been added to the major league roster Monday. Eric Stout was optioned to Triple-A to make room for Barlow. Barlow will be used to "piggyback" with Brad Keller until Keller has got his pitch count where the Royals want it to be. Barlow has pitched just 3 2/3 innings in the majors this year but has had 32 innings at Triple-A, including six starts. At Triple-A, he has a 3.94 ERA with 31 strikeouts and 14 walks. Barlow has very minimal fantasy value in this role and could find himself back in the minor leagues once Keller is able to pitch deeper into games.--Ben Rolfe
