Sekou Doumbouya Notches 15-Point Showing In Fourth Start
5 years agoDetroit Pistons power forward Sekou Doumbouya recorded 15 points on 6-for-9 shooting during Tuesday’s win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, with one of his makes from the field including an enormous jam over Cavaliers center Tristan Thompson. While the fact that Doumbouya logged 33 minutes is noteworthy, the more pressing fantasy aspect of his performance was that he appears to be in line for a continued significant workload moving forward with Blake Griffin undergoing knee surgery. For the time being, Doumbouya, who added three steals and two rebounds Tuesday, has an unfettered role among the starting five, a role he will look to keep ahead of Thursday’s rematch with the Pistons. Markieff Morris looms as competition for his minutes, but the veteran his missed each of Detroit’s six previous games with a foot ailment.
