7 years agoTampa Bay Rays relief pitcher Sergio Romo was relatively successful in his role as a starter Sunday. Romo struck out three of the six batters he faced, and retired four in total. Romo has always had success in his career against right-handed hitters and the Rays took advantage of that this weekend against the Angels. Romo did walk two batters and give up a steal to Ian Kinsler, but he avoided any serious damage before handing over to Matt Andriese in the second. Unfortunately, this role presents no fantasy value for Romo outside of strikeouts. It will be interesting to see if this becomes a regular role for Romo going forward.--Ben Rolfe
