6 years agoLos Angeles Clippers point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has had an unspectacular first season so far. However, the 6-foot-6 rookie is coming off one of his best games of the season on Friday against the Warriors where he knocked down seven of 17 shots from the field and was a personal-best 10 of 10 from the free throw line to finish with a career-tying 24 points. It was just his second 20-point game of the season. He added five assists, three rebounds, and three steals in a season-high 43 minutes. The 20-year-old, who has scored in double-figures in just two of the last 11 games, has struggled with consistency this month but he has done a better job as a distributor as he is averaging 3.6 assists in January. Gilgeous-Alexander has had a difficult series against the Spurs, who the Clippers face on Sunday, as he is producing just nine points, three rebounds and one assist over three contests this year.--Daniel Benjamin
