Shane Greene Can't Stop Recording Saves, Tallies 18th of Year
7 years agoDetroit Tigers closer Shane Greene has been getting the job done lately, and Friday night was no different. Greene registered his third save in as many games and his fifth in the last eight games. This time he worked a scoreless ninth inning against the White Sox, allowing just one two-out hit to Jose Abreu in the process. He is now 18-for-21 in save chances this year to go along with a 3.67 ERA and 1.22 WHIP. He's been a hot closer for a while now and is starting to look like one of the top relief-pitcher options in all of baseball as he continues to pile up saves.
