Shohei Ohtani Touched Up For Five Runs

2 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani fell to 3-3 on Thursday night after allowing five runs over six innings in his team's 6-3 loss to the Blue Jays. The right-hander got off to a rocky start by allowing a leadoff homer to George Springer in the first, which was followed by other big hits that included a two-run double by Bo Bichette in the third, and a Vladimir Guerrero Jr. homer in the sixth. Ohtani did manage to strike out 10 batters to just one walk during the 93-pitch effort, as he also went 0-for-2 at the plate with a walk and an RBI. The reigning AL MVP will take a sharp 3.45 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP into his next start versus the Phillies next week.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
