Stanley Johnson Continues to Play Well
7 years agoDetroit Pistons guard/forward Stanley Johnson helped guide his team to a 115-106 victory over the Brooklyn Nets. Johnson scored 19 points on an accurate 9-for-15 shooting from the field in addition to nabbing away three steals. The third-year man has benefited immensely from the arrival of forward Blake Griffin, seeing a 1.9 percent increase in his usage rate as well as seeing minutes as a starter. Since rolling with the core unit, Johnson is averaging 16 points per game, up from 8.5 points per outing this season. Though he is a solid DFS value play at the moment, he has a somewhat tough matchup ahead on Friday against the Clippers, a team that is allowing a league-best 26.4 points and 4.6 three-pointers to the opposing three spot over the last five contests. He will also likely be matched up with forward Danilo Gallinari, a player who has an adequate defensive rating of 101.5 this season.
