3 years agoMiami Marlins outfielder Starling Marte (finger) is not among the starting nine for Game 2 of Friday’s wild-card series versus the Cubs. After having been diagnosed with a fractured pinky finger after being hit by a pitch during Game 1, Marte will cede way to Magneuris Sierra in center, who will bat eighth and face right-hander Yu Darvish. There remains optimism that Marte could return to play as soon as Saturday if a potential Game 3 is needed, but he would be at less than 100 percent if he ultimately does suit up. Check back for further updates on his status.--Jesse Borek
