3 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Starling Marte struggled at the plate in the team's three-game series against the Washington Nationals this week. He went just 1-for-13 with four strikeouts, no walks and a run scored. Marte started the month out strong, wrangling together a streak of five straight multi-hit games from May 2 to May 8. He's slashing .317/.333/.463 over the month of May as a whole. The 33-year-old has been decent overall for fantasy managers this year, but he's been a big disappointment in the stolen base department. He's gone just 4-for-8 on stolen base attempts over 30 games and he hasn't successfully stolen a bag since April 24. Last year, Marte led the majors with 47 stolen bases over 120 games and he was caught just five times. We'll see if he can turn things around on the base paths soon.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
