4 years agoMiami Marlins outfielder Starling Marte (rib) will be placed on the injured list with a non-displaced fracture in his 12th rib (left side). Marte was forced to leave Sunday's game in the middle of an at bat but it was unclear what he was dealing with at that time. An MRI on Monday revealed the fracture. Marte will have to refrain from activity for about a week before he will be re-evaluated. It's still unclear how long he will be forced to miss. The Marlins will likely go with some mix of Jon Berti, Magneuris Sierra, and perhaps Lewis Brinson to take Marte's place.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
