5 years agoOklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams had arguably his best performance of the 2019-20 season during Friday’s defeat to the Los Angeles Lakers, piling up 22 points on an uber-efficient 9-for-10 shooting performance. With his backup, Nerlens Noel, ruled out right around tip-off due to illness, Adams still managed to log only 27 minutes, but also added six rebounds and four assists to his evening. Head coach Billy Donovan all but admitted that the franchise is playing it cautiously as it pertains to Adams’ health, although Friday was a nice step in the right direction as he gets ready for Monday’s meeting with the Warriors, who he has collected at least eight rebounds against in each of their six most recent contests.--Jesse Borek
